Sad
Palp
There once was a man called Sad Palp,
Whose heart beat in spreadsheet and graph.
He'd stare at the sea,
Think "that could be me,"
But his inbox would drag him right back.
He dreams of the waves pulling deep,
Of silence and permanent sleep.
But at 5:59,
He whispers "I'm fine,"
And schedules more meetings to keep.
Oh Sad Palp, so hollow, so grey,
The ocean will wait one more day.
For deadlines won't drown,
And bosses won't frown,
If only he'd just walk away.
